Mission Statement
Consistent with the mission of Bentley College, the Accountancy Department strives to prepare students for careers in accounting and business, serving public accounting, corporate, and not-for-profit entities. We aim to enhance our students’ education by integrating information technology into our curriculum. Our faculty endeavor to improve the classroom experience and advance the state of the profession through applied, basic, and instructional scholarly research.
Overview
Founded in 1917 as the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance, Bentley has a respected tradition of preparing students for accounting careers in the public and private sectors. State-of-the-art facilities and an innovative curriculum challenge students to learn how to integrate technology into current and developing accounting practices and apply it to management situations.
A core value of the college and the Accountancy Department is to take a leading position in applying information technology across the curriculum, including the requirement that every freshman have a portable computer with appropriate software.
