International Transfer Students
If you are or have been a degree candidate at another college or university, you should apply to Bentley as a candidate for transfer admission. You are not considered a transfer student if you are taking college classes with non-degree status or if you enrolled in a university-level course during your secondary educational experience or summer session.
International transfer applicants must submit official course descriptions in English for transfer credit evaluation. In some cases, we may require that you provide further information about the institution you attend. Additionally, we may refer you to a professional evaluation service for independent assessment of completed academic studies if deemed necessary.
APPLICATION DEADLINES
| Spring 2010 | November 1 |
| Fall 2010 | April 15 |
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
The requirements for international transfer applicants include:
APPLICATION FORM WITH $75 FEE
We accept the Common Application with the Bentley Transfer Common Application supplement, which can be either mailed in or submitted online. It is advised to complete and submit both documents at the same time.
TRANSCRIPTS
Please request that all official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admission. In addition, please submit an official, final high school transcript with date of graduation.
MID-SEMESTER PROGRESS REPORT
This form (found within the Common Application) should be submitted once you have taken midyear exams or completed midterm assignments. If you are currently not enrolled in college courses, this form is not required.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
This statement should explain your interest in Bentley and your desire to earn admittance as a transfer student.
RECOMMENDATIONS
We require two letters of recommendation, preferably from professors. A reference from an employer or high school teacher is acceptable in lieu of one professor recommendation. Please mail letters to the following address:
Bentley University
Office of Undergraduate Admission
175 Forest Street
Waltham, MA 02452
USA
STANDARDIZED TESTS
The SAT or ACT with Writing is required for all transfer applicants who have taken fewer than 10 transferable college courses. These may be sent directly from the testing agency, or indicated on your official high school transcript.
If English is not your primary language, you must also submit official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing Systems exam (IELTS).
CERTIFICATE OF FINANCIAL RESOURCES FORM
As a non-U.S. citizen, you must complete the Confirmation of Financial Resources Form to allow you to obtain an F-1 Student Visa. Applicants who do not use this form should provide a signed statement from the sponsor’s bank, verifying availability of funds and a signed statement from a sponsor indicating willingness to pay educational expenses. Since some countries have limits on the amount of money that may be sent to the U.S., it is important to inquire about the regulations of your country concerning the transfer of such funds. Our Center for International Students and Scholars can also assist you in preparing your documentation for visa issuance.
